I watched our local news last night and was sickened to see ungrateful people who my country had rescued on TV complaining. What had happened is right now in the Middle East there is some kind of fight going on, Israel is at war with Hesbuellah. They are fighting over Something or other, It doesnt really concern me. What Does concern me is, I am a Canadian and a Damn Proud One! Canada Had agreed to Rescue some of these people and bring them back to Canada FREE of Charge for them, Free is not really Free though, Canadians who pay taxes are footing the bill. Apparently most of these people Havent even lived in Canada in years, They somehow got dual citizenship but have not lived in Canada nor have they paid taxes to our government in years. I would not care so much but on our local news it interviewed several of the people we rescued from a war torn area and instead of being grateful They complained the boat had no A/C the food was not tasty and some got sea sick. What is your opinion?

people always have a right to complain, whether it be you or your "ungrateful" passengers. Even in a case of such a critical emergency, people (especially westerners) have certain expectations about safety/cleanliness standards... they were just voicing their desire to have basic human rights.

Sickening isn't it?

People are always ungrateful. Some take forms of those who want to tout that they have some fiduciary obligation to tell the government how to spend their tax dollars when people in this position have the right to petition and sue the government for what they believe would be fiscal irresponsibility.

The crisis and the conflict concerns everyone. We are all human and it is not just Canadian citizens that are being evacuated, there are so many other people from different countries. Granted they may complain, and complain and complain, but is there much that you can do? YES there is!

Contact your government officials and tell them why you feel that the dual citizens do not deserve to get rescued without paying. Some one is not going to agree with you, I certainly don't.

My opinion is I would of saved them. But as soon as They started complaining, then I would tossed their a** back in the
ocean where the sharks could eat them. Once the sharks started
eating on them, then they could start the complaints to one
another. That would clearly show the others what there up against In the first place the Canadians didn't have to take the
time to rescue them.

I'm with you, I think they should have taken Canadian residents first, then expats. A lot of people are really mad at the attitude of the people who don't want to live here, unless there is a war at home. And now, they will all be eligable for welfare again, and will get first chance at public housing while single parents who actually work to support their families will be shoved to the back of the line yet again.

Exactly! maybe if the Canadian government made a statement by making them pay to leave the country..... for example- "to everyone who would like comfortable accommodations to leave this war torn country, is willing to pay $1000 per head to have all the luxuries of home, please make a reservation and maybe wait to die. for all those souls who just want to live and get the hell out, who doesn't care about the conditions of the transportation, those who just want to live no reservations required just get on board!" those bastards should have been left there the nerve!

You can't legislate for idiots of the world. I think your experience is repeated around the western world. I'm from the UK and the reports here are of British nationals complaining about how long it took for the evacuation ships to get there and how the Embassy couldn't answer all of their questions because of a lack of staff - small embassy and exceptional circumstance I think.

Just ignore them. No matter how much good you do for some people, it's never up to their standards.

Just be proud of what your country did. I'm sure many countries are facing the same problem.
