Sometimes people tell you a secret because they want you to do something about it. they are putting the onus of responsibility on you.
What you do depends on how well you know that person.
If you really don't want people to know. don't tell anyone. Sometimes a secret is too much of a burden for anyone!

In most case it is not a good behavior. Chiefly if it is a friend secret. If the "someone" is not a friend, you do not know the reason for he maintain the secret. If you reveal it you are interfering in a problem out of your control. It may be right if the secret is able to harm other people. If you know about a bomb that someone hided in secret ... very dangerous... please call the police and reveal the secret.

Depends on what the secret is all about. If the secret is criminal in any way or risking someone or your friend well being, then it is OK to tell someone.
But if this is about your friend deepest embarrassing or heartbreaking situation or experience, that reveal it will only make him shame in front others, then keep it to yourself dear.
try to consider every aspect, from every point o view before you are making something worst.

Just ask that question again and this time to yourself, would you want anyone to reveal your secrets, no you wouldn't, so hopefully now you have the answer you were looking for.

no i feel that when someone tells you a secret that it is really told in privacy and for only you to know i mean the only way that u should tell it is if that person is doing damage to themselves or to others and i mean like suicide or plotting a murder or something illegal i mean if it was just a secret the person probably told you because they thought that they could trust you and if u really dont want to lose that persons trust then dont tell there secrets and be their confidant.

Only if you think that person may be in jeopardy or in harms way. EG: someone confides in you that they are thinking about killing themselves or something like that I would run like hell to get them some help. If it is everyday things I would never reveal their secrets.

No its not right!!! I recently had a friend reveal something I told her in confidence... Its best to decide where you stand with this person if they were suppose to be a friend ....A friend would not do that unless you are a topic of what they discuss with others. They have betrayed your trust and your friendship!!!!!
