dont jump to conclusions.
1.) first try reseating the power connections and wires to the monitor. check the power button( if it is jammed ).
2.) next take the power cord of another monitor and try it here. if it works, the power cord is faulty. 3.) after that open the chassis, take the video card out. see if it works now. then the video card is bad.
4.) if it doesn't work it could be a faulty system board.
5.)to see if your monitor is working good, try the monitor self test. to do this, disconnect the monitor from the pc.connect the monitor to a power cord. it should say monitor self test. if it doesn't, then the monitor is faulty.
hope these steps help you.

There should be an indicator light on the monitor. If it is green, the monitor is getting a signal from the computer so it could be the monitor itself is bad. If it is yellow, there is no signal and could be the connecting cord or a video ckt in the computer.

might want to be numerous issues. might want to be the wire interior the decrease back isn't plugged in each and every of ways, it may also be the settings instantly on the visual demonstrate unit, Or it might want to be a foul Video card. try clicking on the Menu demonstrate instantly on the visual demonstrate unit, and verify out adjusting the brightness from there. no longer on the computer. no matter if it truly is amazingly dim on the BIOS demonstrate once you first turn it on, then its no longer a placing interior the computer often. might want to easily be that its time to apply those mastercard factors awards and purchase a sparkling visual demonstrate unit.

You have more than one computer, that's good. Because you can't tell without trying another monitor that you know works. If it works on that computer, it's the monitor. If not, it's the card.

I would first check to see if is your monitor.. Monitors wear out way before a graphics card does.

first question we always ask, is the moniter on?after you have answered that, if it is a desktop, plugin another moniter to see how the screen turns out, if it's black, the video card is bad, if its a lap top, plug in a moniter outside the screen and see how it turns out, if it stays black, its the moniter on your lap top.
