If you already have custody all you have to do is call Child Support enforcement, they will make them both pay child support. And being that you have had them for 3 years and they have not made an attempt to regain custody or support the kids in anyway I would not worry about them trying to get custody back, just so they won't have to pay. Any juvenile court judge worth his/her salt will not make them leave a loving home to go back to people who have made no attempt to care for them in three years.

Yes, take care of those kids! You took on the responsibility of getting custody of them, and now they are your responsibility. Unfortunately you are making yourself out to seem like a victim, when the real victims in the situation are the children. If I were you I would NOT let the parents see the kids. If they want to see their children, then the court should make them pay you in return for visitation. But it sounds to me like those kids would be better off without parents like that in their lives anyway.

They can't refuse to pay child support for their children, unless you are just 'asking' them to....go to domestic relations and file a support petition against them, supporting your children is NOT optional. You can collect back support from them starting at the time you took over their care, and it will be taken directly out of their paychecks so they have no choice but to pay it. Perhaps once they figure out its going to cost them money for you to care for them they will suddenly realize their parental responsibility and want them back. You always have the option of taking the kids over there and dropping them off and just saying hey i was happy to help but now i'm done, the end.

What state do u live in??? The kids need child support. Regardless of what the parent's think. Have you tried to contact you local Department of Human Services.
There's laws in every state regarding child support. I know Illinois has one of the strictest laws around.

You can go after them for childsupport.. but you are taking the option of them wanting the children back all of a sudden just so they don't have to pay.. Is the money really worth losing the kids.. sounds to me they are in the best spot.. with someone who wants and loves them

Discuss this frankly with them. Tell them how you feel and explain your need for child support. If that doesn't work, go to an attorney and have him/her write them a letter requesting child support or you will take them to court. If you can't afford an attorney, go to legal aid. Good Luck!

You can have child support taken right out of the parents' paychecks. Be sure to document EVERY move you make.

If you really6 want you can take them to court. I would not . I think there is no other sin than not caring for you own flesh and blood. I would love those children and you will not regret it later in life. their fondest memories would be of you...
