I know someone who says they love Def Leppard but yet they keep spelling it like its the animal.

While there is nothing wrong with misspelling a band name you have to wonder if they like the band or they are just trying to fit in. When it comes to bands its really all about the music it doesn't matter how its spelled, if you know the names of all the band members, if you know the band history or even the song names. Its all about the music. If you like it you like it. If you don't you don't. Its sad when you say you like something to impress someone else, to fit in or to be cool. Its also sad to make fun of someone who doesn't know how to spell it properly. Its kinda a petty thing to worry about.

I find it both funny and annoying. I'm not saying people aren't entitled to make a few spelling mistakes and errors, but it's SOOOO easy to just look up the correct way to spell a band or musician's name. The way I see it, if they were a true fan, they would definitely know how to spell their name.

As a huge Def Leppard fan.....it just annoys me when somebody spells it leopard.
I saw somebody spelling Aerosmith "Arrowsmith," a few days ago, and that just made me laugh.

I hate it, what's also annoying is when someone claims to like the band but don't pronounce the name properly (eg. Rammstein) or can't even name early tracks or albums from the band.
