Is there anyway that a book can be authored by an "unkwown" person and .. that person be able to earn all their credit (based on percentage of course) once the book is sold?

I have written many many pages on what really happened in Iraq.. concerning 31 others and myself.

The only problem is, the classification date for what this is about has yet to expire, and may not for a very looooooooooooong time concerning "national security" and abroad.

I just don't want to go down for some BS charge the feds find against me.

There have been several rather famous novels by authors not using their own name.

'Candy' and 'The Story Of O' are two of them. Another is 'The Treasure Of The Sierra Madras.'

Also, you could pseudonym yourself. A legit publisher will protect your real name. It's been done many times.

That's an interesting question, and I am sad to say I have no idea how to answer this. However, I would recommend talking to a publisher which may be hard since they may not want to talk until they have read your book. You could also contact a magazine publisher and see if they'd work with you (magazines may be able to work better with you). You may also want to try to contact other people who have written similar books (I'm thinking of the author of _Jarhead_, which I haven't read nor do I know much about it, except for what I got from the movie). This may be something you'll have to work on for years to find out how to get around this but I think it would be worth it (and I think that, if written well, it would sell really well because I think people are interested in this!)

Good luck and thanks for what you've done and what you'll do.

(also, someone mentioned getting an agent, you don't need an agent to get published...and if you want to know how to go about getting published check out some of the other similar questions that have been posted...I respond to as many as possible and, though I don't want to sound overly sure of myself, I think I give some helpful answers)

You can publish a book as "Anonymous" but i would be willing to bet that if the gov't wanted to know who wrote it, the publishing company (the guys who would write your checks) would be obligated to divulge such information

Well, I would think that you would have to ask your agent that question. Odds are, you won't get published without one anyway.

Query to a political writer commenting on these things, and offer to be a ghost writer for him/her.
