I am looking for sandy beaches at Oklahoma lakes. Where are the best beaches for just lying out, relaxing, sunbathing and swimming? The key is it has to be a SANDY beach. Thanks.

I've researched more on my own and found that Canton Lake in NW Oklahoma has sandy beaches. This is a fairly large lake with 65 miles of shoreline. After visiting the lake, it does indeed have very nice sandy beaches that cover the lake bottom too. According to a local, the sand is naturally brought in from the flow of the river that feeds the lake. Another lake that supposedly has a sandy beach is Lake Elmer Thomas in Southwest Oklahoma near Lawton. According to a Google Earth image, it seems that the sand is limited to one area of the lake which leads me to believe that the sand is put there artificially. In any case, the pics I've found on the net of Lake Elmer Thomas look nice nonetheless. One final discovery points to Lake Arcadia in Edmond as having one (artificial) sandy beach. I'll have to do more research on that.
About lakes and Oklahoma: Oklahoma ranks #3 out of 50 states with the most lakes. We love water here! :)
