Well since you have to actually have sex to get pregnant, then no you can not get pregnant using abstinence for birth control... More people should try it...

More people don't use abstinence as a form of birth control because they feel like they're missing something by not having sex. The problem with this is, that's all they're doing...having sex. There's generally no "love" involved. How many 14, 15, 16 year olds do you know who are absolutely, totally 100% in love with their boyfriends or girlfriends when they decide to have sex for the first time? My guess would be none. Sure it feels good, but when you make love with someone you're in love with, it feels good physically and emotionally. You can't explain this to a curious teenager though. I think they think they're "missing something" by being virgins, or they think they'll be an adult when they lose their virginity.

Ok lets think about this. abstinence= not having sex all together. to become pregnant you must have sex (or artificial insemination but bear with me). SOOO no you cant get pregnant using abstinence. Im hoping you didnt know what the word abstinence meant when you asked that, cuz if so all you had to do was think a little. and alot of people dont use it because sex is a part of their lives whether it be in a close relationship with a girl/boyfriend or husband/wife, or in some cases out of lust.

I think you already knew the answer to your first question... lol

Peer pressure. In western culture especially, at some ages it's cool to have had sex, so if everyone else has you can feel pressured. I was the only person in my class (at 17) to admit to being a virgin, and only then were some people in the class willing to say, "hey, that's great that you are honest about it" instead of "haha! you loser!"

They, of course, ended up losing... unplanned pregnancies, STDs...

Whoa, mommy2savannah... oral sex does not make you pregnant. Not sure where you got that from.

Why educate abstinence? the purely aspect that has shown to do is reason more effective undesirable pregnancies because human beings are going to have sex only as a lot, yet be ashamed or sneaky about it. i love the very incontrovertible certainty that folk are being taught a thanks to apply BC's. Abstinence is barely going to get human beings in difficulty because the childrens will be unwilling to inform their moms and dads overtly and really that they have got began having sex. Communications favor to be opened, no longer stifled by using non secular zealots who imagine abstinence and purely having sex after marriage is the most magnificent thanks to pass about it. keep in mind that Abstinence is a sparkling theory theory up by using the Christians so as that men might want to comprehend for confident they're in certainty the daddy of the toddlers their different halves bore. Oh, and do not forget that abstinence purely applies to women, men can lie about all of it they prefer, yet get a woman who says she turned right into a virgin and it might want to be shown otherwise.

abstinence means NO INTERCOURSE....not just at certain times of the month; abstinence means to abstain or to deny oneself sexual intercourse.....many people do practice abstinence but give way to passion...one, as you probably know, can be sexually involved without intercourse but that would require a certain level of sophistication that is not easily discussed. More people should read all about sex first, especially when they start becoming sexual beings....and books like "Our bodies, Ourselves" are direct and answer large varieties of questions....knowledge is power....and being sexually active requires a certain degree of power over one's own body.

absinence means not having sex, and yes you actually can get pregnant if you mess around, even if the guy doesn't ejaculate inside of you, but semen gets pushed inside with fingers. So while abstinence means you don't have sexual intercourse it doesn't mean you can't get pregnant, if you do other sexual things....but it is the best way to avoid pregnancy.
