The full line is "Jimmy crack corn and i don't care, Master's gone away" Jimmy is not speaking in the third person... it is a slave song and the premise is that one guy screwed up but it doesn't matter because the master's not there

Most folk songs NEVER make sense. Just like that "Turkey in the Straw" song. Or "John Jacob Jinglehemier Schmidt (La la la la la la la)".
Our ancestors were strange people. And had way too much time on their hands.
I'm curious if the Amish actually sing any of these songs.
