In large part it has to do with religion...esp xianity...their book of myths teaches them that homosexuality is wicked and looked down upon by their god...
*shakes head*
....and many still think it's a choice, and a perverted one at that because it's not the "norm"..they don't realize that people don't wake up one morning and decide to be gay, any more than I woke up one day and decided to be hetero...what we are is simply what we are...

Both of my brothers are gay and my husbands only brother is gay too.Luuckily we were born and live in los angeles,a pretty progressive city. But ,Still ,people tell the jokes and repeat all the anti-gay stuff here.I am a firm believer in "live and let live'.I don't get confrintational, people have a right to thier opinions. If people knew some of the stuff we do behind bedroom walls as a straight, loving couple ,I'm sure they would judge and persicute us too.People that live in glass houses should not throw stones. This world is becoming so violent and un- forgiving. We as a human race, should be more caring and open to our spiecies. There's alot more to be concerned about than what people do in the bedroom.Or,in public, holding hands is beautiful,no matter who you are,Keep on loving and lets hope for the best.

The hatred stems from getting all this "be tolerant" of their life style. If it is a lifestyle they choose , I don't care to see Adam and Steve swapping spit in front of my kids, keep it at home.

Many people are just uncomfortable with their own sexuality and it makes them feel "straighter" to put down homosexuality

It stems from a confusion in themselves..they have to fight it because it makes them feel better for the feelings they have.

I don't understand it either, I don't see a problem with it. You can't help who you are attracted to or who you fall in love with.
