I never understood this ..
now me, I'd rather play with no hat ..
why do players have to wear them .. and it cant be to block the sun all the time .
.is it in the Uniform Policy???

THATS NOT THE POINT!!
Obviously no one has a problem with wearing a baseball cap when playing .. i mean they'll do it, sure, no problem.. you get use to it .. now see,, i play baseball.. and sometimes I would like to just go out there with out a cap ... it really makes no sense, whats the big deal? .. with cap or with out? ..

The "big deal," IDIOT, is that you are not PAID MILLIONS of dollars to play - when you go out and play baseball (and I'm sure you're really great) and don't wear a hat, it's not your JOB. Professional baseball players are SALARIED EMPLOYEES - they do not have a choice.

It is part of the uniform. All players must wear the offical uniform. My sons little league will not let the players play without a team hat.

It's a mandatory part of the traditional uniform. Originally, it was worn to keep sun out of the eyes. By the time they had covered stadiums, it was A MANDATORY PART OF THE UNIFORM.

It's tradition, they're necessary to keep the sun out of the player's eyes. It prevents arguments. (Ex. Batter complains that he missed the ball because the sun was in his eyes)

I always thought they wore a cap to keep the sun out of their eyes so they can see the ball to catch it.

its part of the uniform and to keep the sun out of their eyes. so when they look up to catch a fly or something there not blinded so much...its not always helpful..but it can be
