There are things that can happen to a person that are worse than death.
The worst fear I have is to be mentally, fully aware and physically, totally diminshed or vice-versa.
My 14 year-old son killed after being hit by a car last year. This is a parent's worst nightmare. He suffered massive head trauma and was given zero chance of recovery as his spinal nerve had severed at the brainstem. As painful as it was to lose my son, I was grateful that he did not linger for years in a vegetative state relying on machines for an artificial existence.
Our loss was the answer to the prayers of five families that day as his organs were donated as he wished them to be should that time come. I wish for nobody to share this experience.
I have lived a good life and enjoyed as well as curse it.

It's not actual death I'm so afraid of. It's the thought of being forgotten after I die that's so frightening. What great accomplishment have I achieved that is worth remembrance?
I should not be afraid of death, I believe in reincarnation.

Why be afraid of death? It is just a passage to something we do not believe- passage to true sight, oneness, infinity. How can I be afraid of death when I know that when I die, I will realize that fear is no different than Love? That all is Love. That I am Love.
Liebe. Und Frieden.

I'm not afraid of Death, that is what will happen to me after I am dead. I am afraid of dying, that is the actual act of becoming dead. Will it be long and painful? Will I suffer? Will I die peacefully in my sleep? Will I die young before I get a chance to do all that I want to in life? Will I die alone? Will I ever find love before I die?

Death holds no fear for me. I know where I'm going, and if God so chooses, I'll come back.
What scares me: I married a woman with three kids, and essentially left my family to do it. I now have a very large extended family tied to me through my wife, who is not in the best health. If she were to die, my connection with MY entire family would be weakened, and begin to fade. Especially if I married again. ( You can forget about divorce!)

Death holds no power for those in Jesus Christ. Only afraid of being separated from Him and "nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" Except our own stubbornness of course.

I'm not afraid of anything. Fear is not of God. Of course I'm human and I don't want anything bad to happen and I will go through emotions of worry and concern. But I know that God says that he has not given us the spirit of fear but of a sound mind and truth. And I beleive that there is nothing bigger than God.
