Tommy Davis. He only played one season for the Mets. However, he lead the majors in RBIs in 1962. He is currently out of the top 200 in all-time RBIs.

Could be be Tommy Davis:

This page confirms he was an outfielder: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/teamstats/statmaster.php?l=NL&team=&ALteam=&NLteam=NYN&AAteam=&FLteam=&PLteam=&UAteam=&y=1967&sopt=ALPHA&stats%5BRBI%5D=1&a=Get+Stats

This page confirms he played for the mets in 1967: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/player.php?p=davisto02

The only thing wrong with what I have is that Tommy finished 18th on the season for runs batted in in 1967. To help everyone else out if I get it wrong, the other outfielders for the New York Mets team in 1967 were as follows:

Don Bosch, Cleon Jones, Johnny Lewis, Al Luplow, Amos Otis, Tommie Reynolds, Larry Stahl and Ron Swoboda.

Ron Swoboda, with 53 RBIs, finished in a 3-way tie for 38th place in the National League.
