I think Ali is a cute way..but if you are spelling it Alyson maybe Aly would be a better nickname spelling...I think Alison is a cute way to spell it.

Alley. Like a street. Our daugther's middle name is Allison. But I don't like nicknames because my name that I use everyday is a nickname and it gets really frustrating when I tell people my name and they say "is that your real name?" Also, I cannot sign my "real" name because I've only really ever signed my nickname. So think about that. If you like the name Alley and you want to call her Alley on a daily basis, why not just name her that?

I prefer Alice or Alya for her nickname. Here're some informations about that name just for you from me...
ALYSON
Gender: Feminine
Usage: English (Modern)
Pronounced: AL-i-sun [key]
Variant of ALISON
ALISON
Gender: Feminine & Masculine
Usage: English, French
Pronounced: AL-i-sun (English), a-lee-SAWN (French) [key]
Medieval Norman form of ALICE. It is occasionally used as a masculine name.
Hopefully I can help you, happy choosing and take care...

Allie. All the rest look kind of weird to me. Especially "ally" because that one doesn't look like a name. It looks like you're talking about an ally (or someone who's on your side).
