I installed the toolbar, but the mail button nor IM showed up.

At the end of the Yahoo toolbar, there are 2 arrows pointing towards right as '>>'.
Click on it and then there wiil be more options.
If you click on the down arrow beside Mail and Mobile, you will get a dropdown list where you can choose and enjoy.
For doing all these you should sign in once by following the same method.

Move your mouse pointer over your toolbar and right click, then select customize and check the boxes of the buttons you want to see.
