It is hard to tell. They don't have older looking Avatars. Some guy the other day thought I was a young chic. Kinda wierded me out.

Of course there is, dearheart. I'm in the middle of my fifth decade. Take the young chick thing as a compliment. You've just been "carded" on Yahoo. It is hard to tell...that's why I'm an Otter.

I'll be sixty-six next month (8/7/40 Leo), so if I round up (math rounding) I can claim to be in my seventh decade.

I agree that none of the currently available avatars seem ideal for seniors who want their readers to know they are up there in age, but I think your problem lies elsewhere. You see, some seniors share their wisdom on this forum in a light and friendly way rather than in a stern teacher with a yardstick threatening kind of way. And young and old alike tend to imagine friendly and kind people (especially women) as being young and beautiful. I doubt that you or anyone else will be able to change people from thinking that way anytime soon. It's just natural for people to associate good with beautiful and bad with ugly. So, as long as you continue to provide heartwarming answers that are filled with wisdom, you are taking a chance of being viewed as a young (beautiful) chick rather than an old (ugly) hen by some of your readers. But when the senior avatars become available, and you display one, you can forget about being considered a young beauty. You'll finally be who you really are--kind, wise, mature, and pretty attractive for a woman in her seventies.

I'm not quite that old but I too have been mistaken for much younger than I am. I wish someone would come up wth some Senior avatars. How hard could it be to add a little gray to the color scheme?

at 55, i realize i'm in my 6th decade, not my 5th as some others seem to be thinking. and i would like to have a gray-haired avatar. instead, i change hair color and style every week or 2 -- would try purple but they don't have that either! lol

Hooray for you! I don't know many, really anyone, in their 7th decade that even knows how to use e-mail, let alone that would be here. Good luck in your quest!!
