I give my unemployed best friend a high paying job without an interview or anything and I train her to do the job. My boss is concerned with how much we're paying her - but I fight for her...now I get layed off...and she starts sleeping with the man that fired me and lies about it for several months until she gets the courage to tell me that she betrayed me...then I flip out and she says its not worth it...Im like a sister and she will stop...3 more months go by and she admits she never stopped screwing him and all our friends know but me...is it wrong that she screws the man that turned my life upside down? Im not talking taco bell employee here, Im talking VP of Marketing at a public company.

It might not be clear here - he is the CEO and all decisions are his...and she was not sleeping with him until about 9 months after I was let go and she knew how every fiber in my body hated this man since I worked nights and weekends giving my life to this company and he thought nothing of it and let me go.

Your friend will be used too..then when the boss is done with her she’ll be gone too.
You need to do two things;
1.First get a new best friend at lest until she learns her lessons.
2.You need to keep your eyes open for my new book when I publish it...Based on this type of corporate Sh_t that I have seen or experienced while within a top 100/500 company. ..."When They Care to Fire the Very Best" ©ck03

Corporate America's has changed a lot over the last 20 years...the over all ethics really s_ck...
If you know and can prove this boss fired you because he wanted your friend in your spot or wanted to f_ck her without your input or interference, then you need to send an observation/concern letter or email to the Company HR dept.
Expressing your awareness of the situation in a non-angry tone acknowledging what you know about it and that it won’t matter in your case. Realization it won't likely save or replace your job but it will alert their Dept to other unethical issues the person(s) (boss or employee) might be up to.

Ethics have to be policed by someone. What goes around comes around and pay backs are hell…You might actually save someone else’s job or reputation.

Aside from the personal betrayal which is very painful: it is ethically and morally wrong what your friend does. There is no telling if the company kept her for her merits or because she sleeps with the guy, it doesn't matter, what he does is called favortism, and that gets penalized in a lot of companies.

As far as you and your friend is concerned, would I say, try to look at this issue objectively and ask yourself how you have contributed to this situation rather than pointing fingers anywhere. Even if we mean well for someone else can we cause damage...which is pretty clear in your case. Once you came around to seeing your contributions to this bad situation will you be able to let go of it and focus on your own problem which is appearantly to get another well paid job....Good luck

Wake up Sweetie. She was already sleeping with the boss before you were layed off. That's why you were let go instead of her. Is it wrong? Morally yes! Will that change anything? No. Your best friend is a user. She'll do anything (even hurt her best friend) if she thinks she can gain anything from it. She's the type that would be a "best friend" to anyone who just won the lottery, but if you were to need help getting yourself dressed in the mornings, and thought you could depend on her to help you, you would never see her. She's NOT your friend. She says you are because of all that YOU do for her.

Well, if you had hired someone who was qualified for the job and not your best friend, you might still have a job. Where you messed up at, is the fact that your boss knew that you cheated to get someone in without going through the process.

Does your "best friend" have anything to do with you losing your job? Sounds a little suspious to me. He is going to use her for it is worth and because he know that she did not get the job fairly, that is probably what is using to get her in bed. She is dumb anyway, I hope she is saving her pay checks.

Maybe, she was the one getting the boot and she decided to "knock some boots" and that saved her job and you was let go from yours.

If you have those type of qualifications, you will find something else, in the meantime, ol' girl will have to keep up her end of the bargain and that might be the lesson she is going to learn. That little deal is only to last for so long and she is gone too.

That's about the most messed up friend situation I've heard of in a looonnnggg time. She's obviously a crappy friend and you need to cut all ties with her completely. It was wrong of you to give her the job without interviewing her in the first place (there could've been several better candidates) and for getting her such a high salary though. All you can do now is chalk it up, move on and try to find something better for yourself.

It probably wasn't the most upstanding thing that she could do but you didn't say why you got laid off instead of newer employees. Usually these decisions aren't made by one individual in a company, depending on its size, so just because he's the one that delivered the news doesn't mean it was his decision. I wouldn't worry too much, fooling around with the boss is very seldom a wise thing to do, she'll get hers.

She's a back stabbing biotch and you need to find better friends. If she's willing to betray you and the rest of your "friends" know all about it and how upset you are about it, but still don't tell you...

Honey, with friends like them, you need to enemies.

You need to find a new set of peers to have in your life. She was wrong for letting you lose your job when she was screwing the guy that could have changed that. You gave her that opportunity and she schite on you for it. Drop her and all the other "friends". You deserve better.

Obviously, you were the "friend" & she was the "user" in the relationship. Don't waste anymore time being upset. I know it's hard. I had to let a multi-million dollar lawsuit go, due to a liar. I'm still P.O.'d but I'm the only one hurting about it.
Though, karma did get the lawyer who promised to help, then changed his mind. He was mugged in his office 2 nights ago by 2 guys with guns. He's lucky to be alive. LOL!

Yes, she is WRONG. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it now. but her time to pay will come and then she will know exactly how you felt. true you might not be aware of this when it happens.. but it will. your life will turn around for the best and hers.. well if she thinks its all good now... she better enjoy it because it WILL NOT last.... keep your head up.. you are the better person here.. don't forget that.
