If you are seeing black spots, then you should be worried. I wouldn't wait that long to see a physician. I would go to the ER and get it looked at. Whether it is an eye infection, or a detached retina from your rubbing, it needs to be addressed asap. Please go in and get it looked at. eyes are not something to mess around with.

See your optometrist twice a year instead of once a year.
Also, if your family has a history of diabetes, have your blood sugar level checked monthly, even if you do not have any signs of diabetes.
Try not to rub your eyes, it just makes the problem worse. You are doing the right thing by seeing a specialist.
When you see the optometrist on the 31st, write down a few questions that you want to ask him/her so you don't forget. Such as;
"Will diabetes worsen the problem?"
"Should I check my blood pressure on a regular basis",
"Do contact lenses precipitate the problem?"
"What can I do to slow down or even reverse the cloudiness in my eyes?"
As I have said earlier, see your optometrist twice a year before it gets worse, and irreversible damage is done.
Good luck.

You need to go to the ER now or your doctor tomorrow...if your mom has diabetes there's a good chance you will have it at some point...diabetics, as you may know, can have serious eye complications, including cataracts and neuropathy...get yourself help quickly please...good luck...

I would call your optometrist first thing in the morning and describe your symptoms. They will be able to decide whether or not you need to be seen immediately (they work in eye problems) or if it can wait for your appointment. Good luck!

just quit rubbing it it will not help, wait until eye doctor checks it out, you probably can't get in any sooner, so just hang in there it probably is just an infection from rubbing it!
