One week before your period. I know they say to try during ovulation time...2 weeks before and after. But is it still likely, one week before your period is due?

People need to stop putting there 2 sense in and just answer the question being asked, they need to grow up as well!!Clearly I am old enough, and want to get pregnant, that why i'm the pregnancy chat! Simple questions just need a simple answer that's all. Didn't your mama ever tell you, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all?! BTW thank you to all the serious feedback, it's appreciated!

The average woman's menstrual cycle is 28 days, and ovulation occurs generally between days 13 - 16. This would be two weeks before your period starts. I say "average" because this isn't true in all cases. In very few, actually. I became pregnant with my second son 2 days after my period ended. If this can happen (early ovulation), I don't see why it couldn't happen a week before your period is due (late ovulation).

The female reproductive system exhibits a considerable amount of what medical technology calls "biological variability." A viable egg may be present on any day or night of the month. True, there is a general pattern in which there is no egg at around the time of menstrual flow, but there are no guarantees.

And the sperm are amazingly determined. I knew a case of a woman who got pregnant by giving a friend a hand job during her heavy flow days.

And it can be a real budget buster if you are not ready for that baby. So always wrap that rascal or otherwise provide for the contraception you need. Pay no attention to the teachings of the "church;" they are nuts.

And you can be lucky three times in a row and then get the slow balloon treatment on the fourth try. Good luck! Enjoy...

I think you can get pregant the entire two weeks before your period and the entire two weeks after. So it should be a total of two weeks not one but that would be a good question to ask your doctor. Good luck to you.

you have sex=you can get prego, if your not ready to be dealing with that your not ready to have sex. I hope your old enough and are using both birth control and condoms to help minimize the chances of getting a baby or a disease.

You can get pregnant at any time. Whether it's close to your period or not. You can even get pregnant DURING your pregnant. Be safe and wrap it up.
