HELP! What does"Cannot mount ipod" mean?

this is the msg i get when i try to restore my ipod,,,i accidentally left it in my car and now it is not working,,,,i see an apple but nothing else,,,,and it wont let me restore or update it. :((

I have 2 things for you to try

First thing to try:
1) Reboot your iPod (hold down menu and center buttons)
2) hold down the next song ( I>I> ) and center button to boot in to disc mode (it could be center and Play/pause, but i am positive it's next song)
3) connect it to your computer

Second thing to try:
1) Reboot your iPod
2) Hold down the Previous Song (

Your battery probably needs charged first.
