How can the Bush administration tell any of its allies that they can't do the very same thing that the Bush administration itself has done? By invading Iraq -- which never attacked nor credibly threatened the US -- the Bush administration has given a blank check to its allies to do whatever they want under the claimed label of self-protection.

Israel was attacked without provocation by a radical group bent on their destruction. This administration is supporting Israel's effort to defend themselves as did the majority of Democrats and Republicans in the Congress. Israel has complied with world demands to exit the Gaza strip and to exit Lebanon several years ago. The stipulations of their exit from Lebanon, namely that Lebanon would use their own forces to limit Hezbollah's ability to attack Israel, were not adhered to. Furthermore, Israel continues to be attacked on a daily basis. Why in the world would the U.S. demand that Israel cease fire unilaterally? This makes absolutely no sense. Perhaps the UN should, for once, take a meaningful stand and firmly speak out against terrorism. Furthermore, perhaps the UN should back that rhetoric up with real action against terrorism. The truth is that Israel has complied with world demands and has been uniformly let down by the international community that has allowed terrorism to flourish.

If you think the Lebanese are innocent, I have some lots to sell you--the lots are on Titan.
If Lebanon was serious about peace, they would have run the Syrians off, and not let Hezbollah become as entrenched as they are. Nor, would they have let the Iranians sell massive amounts of missiles to Hezbollah for use against Israel.
I imagine this Administration is letting it continue to keep the lights off their own shenanigans. The same is true for Iran. This war diverts attention and takes the heat off all three countries, while focusing it on Lebanon.
I imagine Israel is tired of the Iranian and Syian proxies, Hezbollah and Hamas, killing them.

From what i will tell (the arguments overlap, are ambiguous, and might pass lower back centuries in case you go with to delve into religous rhetoric): Mass exodus of Jews submit-WW2, moved into land that British owned under the Mandate of Palestine, kicking out families who have been already there. as a results of fact that 1948 the recent state of Israel has been attempting to boost its borders, attacking neighbouring international locations and killing its very own electorate (this truthfully constitutes terrorism). Israel's nicely coordinated massacres and thefts of land have been happening for years. Survivors who lost their residences are battling lower back (somewhat somewhat, thinking the help (money and weapons) the U. S. and Europe has given Israel), that's why there's a conflict. in case you truthfully need to comprehend the situation i might propose examining books, and heading off mainstream media which over the years has been unashamedly biased in the direction of Israel (possibly as a results of fact of economic pressures and threats).

Why don't Lebanon give back the kidnapped soldiers? The US is not the police to the world even though sometime they try. Why is is that everytime something happens in the world everyone expects the US to step in? I am personally glad the US hasn't stepped in because if they do other nations are going to jump in cause another worldconflict.

Can you name the last time a cease fire actually brought peace? Is never has here and never will here. I wonder when liberals will realize that Israels enemies want her wiped out completely and nothing else will do.
Cease fires simply let terrorists regroup and re-arm.

It is not up to the USA to stop that war, although the UN may be called on to intervene.
Israel is only defending itself against some Arabs that want to wipe them off the face of the earth.

Because as long as the arab terrorists are waging war against Israel, They have less time and resources to bring their war to American soil.
