Stop wasting time and do something positive. Try volunteering.

You can meet people with simmilar interests, do something good for the community, learn new skills and get personal references that you can use in the future to get a new job or go to college.

A good site is http://www.volunteermatch.org
They have all kinds of interesting volunteering opportunities.

TMH idea is good.
Go to the library.
But also ask the librarian what are some of the classic novels too read.
"Grapes of Wrath" or anything by John Steinbeck
"Atlas Shrugged" or anything by Ayn Rand
"The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" or anything by Heinlein. Especially if you like science fiction.

or find someplace nearby to volunteer

or go to a park with a friend

or find a sport to play or just go running or swimming
