Granted, I think we are talking about a different state but, when I worked at a State Correction Facility, we were told that inmate names could never be volunteered. If someone phoned and asked about a particular inmate, by name, we could say yes or no as to whether that person was incarcerated there (and that's all) but, I repeat, it was against law/policy for any of us to volunteer inmate names.
