Some places definitely are, but I do not know first hand. I live in northern Minnesota where most of the forests and lakes are untouched. Take a vacation somewhere away from the city and get some fresh air. You may come to realise things aren't as bad as they seem.

It is the politician's fault.
The developers are only doing what they are allowed to do.
Eventually you will see that the city can't hold up to the new found population. Roads will need repaired more often, resources will be thinned out such as clean water and adequate sewage. Maintenance etc......
Politicians will promise more money for the entire community will result from this, but in reality, a few businesses and a lot of land lords will suck in the profits.
The money hungry politicians will allow the immediate cash flow and convenient taxing from the new population, but it will settle down and the city will hurt in the long run.

No, actually you could put all the world's population inside the state of Texas, with all people living at a healthy distance from each other. Contrary to the common belief, there is more than enough space in this world for all, the population regulates itself over a long period of time, so no worry!
However some atractive places get crowded, one would wish it stayed the same, but it's human nature to go where the money is and where it's beautiful. I'm sorry for your place!

no not really everyone flock to big cities thus making them overcrowded and unbearable. John Mellancamp sang a song about Small Towns and he was right because I can breath in a small town. I moved from a big city to a small town and everyone ask the same question Why did you leave and move here? Boy if they only knew.

Yup, the world's way too crowded. I am surprised our government hasn't figured out a way to license parents. This would build a huge amount of revenue and limit the amount of poverty. If we all had a productive place set out for us (in society) our lives would be so much more orderly. This might lead to a decrease in crime ( at least robberies).
So all we need to do is to convince everyone of Earth that this is the way to go.

Yes. In about 25 years, the world will be WAY overcrowded and some people will have to resort to living in water... you can help by not having babies or sex until you are at least 25!

It is too crowded but what are we supposed to do? Would you feel right about having laws like in China, where people can only have one child? A friend of mine once had a dream that she spoke to someone who had died and they said to her 'Geez, if you think it is crowded where you are, just wait til you get here.' Food for thought.

alas, thats what happenin to the entire world. It's no secret that the world is becoming overpopulated. I believe that China had kind of the right idea enforcing the "one child per household" law.
We should take a note.

Do you think you or anyone in your family are pushing the over-population boundaries and should be the first to go?
Who would you pick to be just one too many?
No...of course not!
