I have heard that he was gay and there was something about he and Rock Hudson being a thing. Is it TRUE or FALSE?

I think he is indeed gay, but I never heard that he and Hudson were partners. I love to hear him sing "Back Home Again in Indiana" each year before the Indy 500! He still has an amazing voice.

Yes, I've also heard he is gay and lives in Hawaii. I didn't care for his voice, but that's just my opinion.
