I love spending time with my BF, but things haven't been great lately. He's been talking about "when we get married". But I'm not ready to make such a big commitment. I just don't know whether he's the ONE I want to spend the rest of my life with....what should I do? wait and see where this leads to, break up, or tie the knott????

let him know right away... you will find out if he is the one just by his reaction. I bet you have some trust issues... meaning he doesn't trust you... that could be why he talks about marriage a lot. A lot of guys think that is the answer to end a suspicious mind. Just be honest and see what his reaction is... he should understand what you are feeling, and be considerate of what you are saying to him. Good Luck!

Do not just tie the knott to make him happy. If you have been together for 4 years and you don't know if he is the one. Then you need to seriously take a look at your relationship. And the next time he talks about "when we get married" tell him you don't know how you feel about getting married period.

well, if you are not ready by now then you probably never will be ready.
there is no real way around this without someones feelings getting hurt, and unfortunately he may be the one coming onto this site looking for an answer to a question such as is my GF ever going to marry me, and sadly he will probably get answer such as maybe and maybe not and he will probably get some advice as to leave and go find someone that will be ready to marry him, sorry to say this but it looks like thats where this is headed to

Never tie the knot when you have any doubts at all. Not even one. After you get married you life will have many little and not so little bumps in the road.....why start out with a humongous bump? Continue to see him if you want but you know he's not the one, "boyfriend" should be the only title he gets in your life. Just tell him that for both of you to be happy getting married would not be good.

not really enough info are you engaged? If you are have you set the date already? If you haven't set the date and are not engaged yet sit it out and see how it goes. Maybe things will get better and you will find that he is the one that you want to spend the rest of your life with. Evidently you have found something in him that interests you, because you have been with him for 4 years. Don't marry him just to marry him if you don't want to spent the rest of your life with him.

Tell him that you are feeling really pressured lately about a lot of things, and when he talks about "when we are married", it scares you because you know you're not ready for that committment yet.
Also tell him that it took a lot of courage for you to tell him this because one of the other prerssures you were feeling was that in telling him this truth , you might lose his companionship and you don't want to lose that.
Take his hand and ask him if he can wait for you until you know what you want. If he truly loves you, he will wait.
