If it's the kind of thing that you might see during war, i.e. explosion, mass poisoning, etc. and it's done by someone who is not under the orders of their nation's military, then that is terrorism. So, soldiers kidnapping soldiers = war. Civilians kidnapping civilians or soldiers from another country = terrorism. Civilian killing civilians or soldiers in an air strike = terrorism. Soldier killing civilians or soldiers in an air strike = war. Now, if the soldier is intentionally killing unarmed civilians or soldiers, that might be genocide. The big difference is whether or not the killing is done in an official role within the government.

Kidnapping a soldier by nonsoldiers (itd just be capturing then) is terrorism.
Killing civilians in air strikes is just unfortunate but not terrorism if the targets were military and not just shooting for houses.

Hizbollah is not a state, therefore Israel cannot be at war with them. Israel has created fear in Lebanon by indiscriminately bombing (they for instance said any lorry in the south was liable to be a target, regardless of what it was carrying, just in case it was carrying Hizbollah). Why should people have to leave their homes and buisinesses just because Israel says so? Does that mean if they don't do what Israel says they will DELIBERATELY target them, just in case they are terrorists? The deliberate targeting of civilians is a war crime, as laid out in the Geneva convention, regardless of who does it. Israel's indiscriminate bombing and shelling is tantamount to war crimes, and the chain of command in Israel should stand trial in the Hague and answer for their crimes. As should Bush and Blair for their involvement in the killing of civilians in Iraq.

Civilian victims maybe be considered collateral damage, or casualty of war.
Terrorism is when Palestinians went inside Israel's territory and blew themselves up ...
Look, I'm not a Jew, but I can tell which is terrorism and which is not ... I'm kinda proud of myself.

No but launching missles, rockets and mortar into civilian areas IS terrorism. hezbolah has been doing this for years, its about time Israel started kicking butt and taking names. Her enemies all want her wiped off the face of the earth and they won't stop until they are dead or all Jews are... I vote removing them before one more Israelite gets injured.

Of course, waging a war of aggression against innocent civilians is terrorism of the highest degree. Despite those who don't get it, please note that international diplomats are speaking of Israel committing war crimes through its actions. The irony is that they are simply creating another generation of recruits for Hezbollah.
