I am on birth control. I haven't missed any pills and have been on bc for 4 months. I started my period 5 days early and have been on it for two weeks. I am still taking my pills like I am supposed to and I continue to have a period. I don't understand what could be happening. Are my pills not strong enough? Serious answers only please.

Go see your gyn. this can be due to a fibroid you may have had and with birthcontrol it tends to get larger and when it is time for your period you get it sooner and longer. Fibroids are benign but can be extreamly menacing. Go see your GYN.

If you're taking a mini or micro pill that has a relatively low estrogen content than yes, the bleeding can happen. It's not a matter of how strong the pill is, but the mini and micros contain more progesterone and less estrogen. They have their positive sides, esp if you're not tolerating estrogen very well and oftentimes Drs don't prescribe high estrogen pills to young women. You should call your GYN and tell him/her. They'll probably put you on a higher estrogen type pill.

I am not sure what the problem could be, but I would just call your doctor's office & speak with the nurse. She will probably know if its something serious enough to go see the doctor.

Hmmm, I've never had that happen to me before. Each pack has different amount of horomones in it, maybe you need a stronger one. But I'm no doctor, so it would be wise to go and see your doctor. Good luck.
