I thought there wives got the check book the benz and a dowery the highest respect(thats why they dont flaunt them down the street) or let them look like pamela anderson or allow face lifts chin lifts tummy tucks etc.

How do you know for a fact that the Muslim men treat their dogs better than their wives, have you lived in a Muslim household?? People need to learn more about life in general and learn more about what they are commenting so that they will get an intelligent answer.
In actual fact, Muslim men have a very very great respect for their wives. In actual fact, its nothing to do with religion anyway. People from all walks of life should treat people exactly the way that they themselves wish to be treated.
Muslim women are very very respected. Maybe people should take time to research cultures and religions before they can be judgemental/criticizing whatever, why do you think that there are so many wars and discomfort. Get a grip and use your yahoo search engine to research things you need to know about.
Incidentally, I am not Muslim but Christian not that that should make a difference.
I wonder why people make rash statements when they havent experienced life yet!!!

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said "The best amongst you are those who are good to their wives." Women are entitled with rights in Islam, and are to be respected by all men, and especially by their husbands. For instance, Muslim women are not supposed to change their last name when they get married, because that is considered sexist, as if she is property and not an individual. What you see on the media is taken completely out of proportion. Men everywhere in every culture have considered themselves dominant and oppressed women, and I can assure you that it is not a result of Islam or any religion for that matter. In fact the ones you hear about are usually not even religious at all. Don't you know how many women are beaten up by their husbands here in the USA? A lot of that is a result of men getting drunk (Muslims are forbidden from consuming alcohol, so that definitely cuts it down for us). You cannot generalize people by these stereotypes. The media does a good job of highlighting every little thing that goes wrong in non-western and non-Christian countries- keep that in mind. By the way, most Muslims don't have dogs anyways ('cuz they're considered to be dirty)...just thought I'd let you know...With all due respect, please do some research for yourself and don't just believe everything that you hear.

Because a dog is man's best friend. And Islam is all about friendship...
A dog is faithful. Wife is not. Dogs do not double-time on you.
A dog will lay down its life trying to save you from danger. Which wife will that ??
Dogs do not ask for jewellery. They are happy with whatever ou give them. They are grateful for life even if you give them a morsel of stale bread.
Dogs are nagging in love. Wives are nagging in quarrel.
Dogs do not remind you of your mother-in-law.
A Dog respects its master's mother. Wives do not.
Your dog thinks of you always.Your wife thinks only of your bank balance.......
No wonder Muslims find dogs so attractive.
In fact, it is easier to find the merciful Allah in a faithful dog than in an unfaithful wife.
Dog uplifts your mind and helps in your meditation, sadhana etc by keeping intruders/ distractions away when you are praying to God. But a wife diverts your mind to sex and selfishness and takes your mind away from God...
All other religions should also take a leaf from the Muslims and give the dog its due respect.

I guess it is just tradition. Muslum women should just find a better man of another religion. There are many men of the world who love women. There are many men who think women are a gift. Have one wife and do not beat her. If any woman is being treated badly anywhere realize that in some countries this is illegal. Move to a country where it is. If you are in one where it is already get away from that evil man. I used to be abused and now I am not. I got away from that horrible man. He was a US man born and raised but he is evil. He stopped hurting me and is hurting someone else. I hope she breaks free and sends him to jail. It is illegal here.

The Muslim men do not realize that God blessed both Adam and Eve the same in the Garden and that actually Adam, as the one who was supposed to take care of Eve dropped the ball even more so than she did.
So muslim men choose instead to Lord themselves over their women...while God clearly said we should love our wives like Jesus loves the chuech and gave Himself for it.

I am Muslim and this is not true. Just because you have had a bad experience doesn't mean all are like that. Muslim people don't even like dog's in the house.

This question is really disturbing. Surely no one lives in such isolation they think all Muslim men treat their dogs better than their wives. It is really prejudice to even suggest such a broad sweeping idea.
