The hidden political message I read was - our President is a total, immature idiot. Oops, that wasn't hidden at all, was it. These are world leaders and this moron is tip-toeing around and totally embarrasing himself in front of the entire G-8 summit. Of course the Chancellor was upset. Heck, she probably was afraid of what he might do next. Notice he didn't rub Putin's shoulders. I have friends who live in the South, and they have manners, etiquette and INTELLIGENCE - sometimes called COMMON SENSE. Our great Country will have a long and costly (in terms of our status around the world) fight to regain the respect of the World community after all of the dumb things our president has SAID and DONE. Shouldn't he have a watchdog with him, holding him on a leash? And probably monitoring his, "food in the mouth" speaking on live microphones. The "S" word didn't bother me as much as the piss-poor manners of this boorish oaf.

Wow! That was weird. I think that is a Southern, "hey how are ya'" kind of thing. She didn't look like she liked it though. Maybe the two world leaders had some private moments together...

Because he's a blithering idiot and a moron who doesn't have the sense God gave a goose and can't keep his hands to himself. And, if you were married to Laura the Librarian, wouldn't you want to try and get some on the side?

I think he was sucking up to her, since there is very little support over there from the general population for him. He finally realized that he screwed up big time, and is now trying to mend fences. Well, too late !

Ha! I thought she was gonna deck him!
Maybe he shouldn't have done that. I mean, I like Bush, and I am guessing it was just a friendly gesture (hoping it was a friendly gesture, anyway) but maybe a handshake would have been better.

I think it is Bushs way of "patting" the back of a woman to demean her. He probably pats C. Rices back too, she just puts up with it. :)
