My speakers seem to be in fine and I ever tried my headphones but they still dont work the only thing i can hear is like a screaching noise.

Sound Driver corrupted?
Someone turn the sound off?
Speakers unplugged?

make sure that your speakers/headphones are plugged in. that happened on my computer.. turned out we need a new sound card.

re-install sound driver....or
if you use sound card make sure it was placed properly and try to re-install again then restart you pc...

maybe you downloaded something that changed the driver. reinstall the drivers
