Today I went to the doctor and she said once again my baby is still breech, or is it breach? Well either way not head down. She scheduled me for another appointment wedensday and if still breech there going to send me to the hospital for an ultrasound to find if there findings are correct and if so they are going to try to flip her around! My question is has anyone else had this done? Is it dangerous for the baby? Does it hurt? Im terrified.

It didn't hurt when they did that to me. But it there is a chance that the umibilical cord can become wrapped around the baby's neck. But that can happen anyways and it is better if possible to have the baby's head down by any means, because it is more of a danger to both the child and mother if the baby is breech. You and the baby will be fine. The doctor knows what he or she is doing. You have to trust that they know what is best for you and your child. I wish you the best of luck!!

You don't say how far along you are. Sometimes, if it is early in the pregnancy, the baby's position will change on its own before you go back to the doctor again.

Yes, I have heard of women having this done, and it is much better for you and the baby to do it before birth, than it is to try and get through a breech delivery.

Of course, a C-section is also an option, but it sounds to me like you have a very good doctor there... one who tends to try a more natural approach instead of just pushing you into a C-section.

They charge about twice as much for a C-section as for a natural vaginal delivery... so if your doctor is doing all she can to assure a normal vaginal delivery, he/she certainly has your best interests at heart. Don't be afraid, it might be uncomfortable, but it won't take very long... and then you will be in a much better situation-- able to have a normal delivery.

It doesn't hurt the baby, and you may feel some discomfort as they turn the baby. It is perfectly safe and preferable to having a c-section. There is a chance though that the baby may turn itself back to a breech position before birth so be prepared to have it done again while your in labor. Good Luck.

My baby wasnt breech but was in an awkward position and they said it would make labour much harder if he wasnt turned.
My midwife said that as you give birth the baby would turn anyway.
There are millions of people that have had healthy breech births and if you dont want it turned, you dont have to.
After all its your body and your baby.
I`ve never had a breech baby so i cant comment on if it hurts.
Though there are excerises you can do to help turn it. I had to go on my hands and knees for a few minutes each day (as if i was scrubbing the floor). It MAY help.

It is safe. It will be uncomfortable for you. It is done from the outside of your abdomen. The baby often goes back to the position they had before being turned.

LaLeche League used to have some information on how you can position yourself so the baby wants to turn. It involves using the couch and a ironing board as you lay towards the floor. You might try to contact your local LaLeche League and see how many days/weeks this takes and if you are too far along to try this technique.

I've heard that it hurts, and is only sometimes successful. It's only dangerous to the baby (and possibly you) if you aren't having professionals doing it. It should turn out fine, though. If your baby is still breech by delivery they will probably perform a c-section.

This is a common proceedure and your baby will be fine. If they can't get her turned though they will have to do a c-section. Just ask your doctor all your questions. Remember c-section is major surgery. They are going to cut your abdomen and uterus open and stitch you shut. Since its surgery there is an increase in infection and complications. Try to give the turnin a try. If it doesn't succeed know that a c-section is probably the best bet for your baby's safety.

I would love to give you some informtion that would make you feel better, but i have never experienced this before. When my sister was pregnant with my nephew the doctor discovered that he was breeched. she told my sister that, that was common and that over time the baby might turn, and that's just what happened. i suggest you ask yout doctor about the possibility of the baby turning on its own.

yes I heard of it but just profesionals do that if the babies are still breech at the end of the pregnancy and also depends on you if you wanna giveit a go and ofcourse it hurts when they try to turn your baby or if you don't want to they propably schedule you for a c-section if they don't do breech deliveries cause some hospitels won't deliver breech babies(safety issues). My dauther was born by emergency c-section because she was undiagnost breech

Umm flipping a baby is VERY uncomfortable, and it could cause the cord to get wreapped around the babies neck, They wanted to flip my son too, but my doctor said that he doesnt do it because of the pain and the cord situation. I wouldnt get it done persionally. I had a csection, not only cus he was breech but because he was understress i suppose lol. But hun, who knows your daughter might even flip around tonight when you are sleeping. Like i said i wouldnt get it done, its not really safe, or a delightful experiance
