ps.
these are rabbits that live outdoors. The neibhor cut them loose when they got too big. (meanie)So all they do is eat weeds and grass in the back yard.

Just feed them the plain without sugar. When I have young bunnies that are not getting enough milk from their mom, I feed them generic regular oatmeal. They can eat it easily and kept some of the runts from starving to death. It is also known as rolled oats and is wonderful stuff for bunnies. Feed it dry and in a little bowl for them. If the mom rabbit eats some too, it will help her keep her weight on also.
Not many people know about feeding oatmeal to orphans bunnies. I am impressed.

Rolled Oats For Rabbits

On no honey. Do not give your bunny oats. Their diet consist of Timothy hay which they can eat their body weight in per day. They also need veggies like Romaine or bib lettuce. They also love carrots and radish greens. Not the radish it's self ,but the green tops of them. You can give them some fruits like apples, oranges, bananas and rasins ,but make sure you give these only as treats. Maybe once a day or so. I have to admit that sometimes I just can not help give a extra treat once in awhile. Enjoy your bunny.

it doesn't sound like a good idea. even if the oats are cooked, i think they would still expand once they get into the bunnie's tummy. so he might eat a lot, and then a few hours later it would really stretch out his stomach. any kind of bread foods would do that.

although, if you wanted to control the portion and just give him a little spoonful as a snack, i don't think he's going to die. i wouldn't feed it to him on a regular basis.

There is probably too much sugar on the instant Quaker oats.

as long as it does not contain sugar...just the plain oats are fine...but a rabbit needs to have "rabbit" food (from a pet store) because it contains the right nutrients for it to grow and be healthy

No not the instant kind, you need whole rolled oats.

As a treat I'm sure that's fine..I just hope that's not ALL you're feeding him.

I don't know but it seems to me that if you did after they drank H2O it would expand and hurt the rabbits.
