Go to device manager and un-install the DVD drive that is giving you trouble, and then reboot. The computer will re-load the drivers for the DVD drive after the reboot.

Maybe you're pressing the RESET button instead of the OPEN/CLOSE button.

Or maybe your video adapter is broke. Try updating your card drivers. If that don't work, try re-downloading your DVD codec.

1. something is loose like a power connector
2. there is a hardware resource conflict.
