Yes there is.

You can go to www.limewire.com and download the free version and get almost every song you need and ever wanted.

You can also go to www.bearshare.com and download their free version. (If you are looking for a song on Limewire and can't find it Bearshare might have it)

Word of advice don't ever download Kazza because you get nothing but pop-up and viruses.

It would be good to have both Limewire and Bearshare.
If you can.

Yes. You can download music for free and legally on myspace.com for many of the indie bands that add their music to get started. If you are looking for popular music, you can download free but illegal music from many of the p2p file sharing programs, some of which are listed here.

For bands with a cult following, poorly recorded live shows are freely available by googling the band name (like jesus lizard for example). When it comes down to it though, your best bet for free quality music is to rent CDs at the library :)

You can search for a program called winmx.download this and you will probably have to search for winmx patch and download it also. This program is completely free and you can use it to search for music, pictures, programs,or movies. It is a share program so you are searching from the other users online at that time.

good luck and happy searching

Several places, actually. Try http://queststudios.com for Sierra On-Line's games' music. Of course, it's in MIDI format, but that's the price you pay. A lot of MIDIs are free!

If you prefer, just do a search for MIDIs.

The music industry takes a disliking to that. They sue people who do it. You can buy several truckloads of records for what it would cost you to defend yourself against a piracy lawsuit, but go for it if you have the money.

Yes there are a few here are 4! Kazaa don't use it as it is full of Spyware, Winmx, Bit Torrent, Limewire is fairly good and it don't bundle Spyware.
