The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.
I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

With the creation of Priceline and Travelocity, travel agents are a dying breed. Soon, there won't be a market for it anymore. I would try to assist others in another way. Maybe try having a travel website.

It would be a quick and easy way to go bankrupt given that most people do their own airline bookings via the internet. Find another career.
