We are able to see images and sounds that we could not a couple of generations ago. We can also see good things, but our nature makes us somewhat more attractive to violence, sex, and conflict.

So our society is forced to cope with the actions of people who are exposed to these powerful images and forces. Most people don't become violent because of what they see in movies and video games, but many people are.

I am a sys admin for a local medical facility, we had to take the servers down for a major upgrade which lasted about 3 days before they were ready to go back up. Our clinical director was asked by a (around mid 20's) staff member "how are we supposed to document without computers?", to which he replied, "Go to paper charting of course, don't you remember how we did things before computers?!", the staff member promptly replied "No! I don't!"
