No!

Click onto the web site http://www.hola.com and look at the line up. I do not believe that a Miss Iraq has entered the contest, although a few other Moslem nations have entered contestants. The feelings of Iraq towards the United States, which seems to be the major force behind the pageant, generally are not positive. A lot of people have mixed feelings about the ethics and morals of beauty contests. Somehow, I would expect Moslem countries to feel a much higher rate of disapproval than other nations. However, a lot of people, regardless of their geography and religion, feel that these contests degrade women, making them appear less than intelligent.

I know the web site is in Spanish. However, it is not hard to figure out the names of the countries listed, in English. If you are stuck, you could use a Spanish/English dictionary.

This has nothing to do with the war, the real reason that Iragi's haven't entered the Miss Universe is because they have a life outside of beauty...how about religion? Their religion forbids to enter in such acts.

Yeah, they picked the only woman in Iraq who was 33.3% Sunni, 33.3% Shi'ite and 33.3% Kurd. Unfortuantely I hear she's 100% ugly but oh well. (Her talent, by the way, is making IEDs.)

Me, I'm waiting to see Miss Hezbollah and Miss Hamas, er, Miss Lebanon and Miss Palestinian Authority.
