Tech is always good at answering these questions. She is always thorough and gives you a lot of information. But, she does have one bias. She always reccomends staying onsite. There are A LOT (hundreds) of offsite hotels, some are nice and some aren't. I have always stayed offsite and never had a problem with any of the hotels I stayed at. The last time I went I stayed at a Days Inn I got for $25 a night through priceline. If you don't want to take that risk, check out hotels at tripadvisor.com. They are really good at rating hotels. You can probably get a decent hotel for under $60 a night which would save you about $500 PER ROOM over staying onsite, and you'll probably be needing at least two rooms. That's a savings of $1000 just on your hotel rooms.

When I took my family there in 1996, we were there for 10 nights and went to the parks 7 days and that was before the Animal Kingdom (and other things) was around. You could easily fill up 9 or 10 days doing nothing but Disney stuff if you wanted. If you do want to spend a lot of days in the parks, buy a 7 (or 8 or 9 or 10) day pass and don't get the park hopper option. You'll have plenty of time to see everything. Get a pass for more days than you think you might use. It'll only cost you a few more dollars (very few). Many times when people go to Disney they want to do and see everything and they rush through and really don't enjoy themselves. The best times I have there are when I take it easy and really experience everything that I do. Get a long pass and take it easy. Rushing from one attraction to another is just too stressful.

Have a good time!

Figure a day ticket at Disney cost about $60.00, then a good hotel will cost about the same a night, then you have food, drink and any goodies you may want. So I would figures about $200.00 a day as a bench mark. You can also buy a ticket package that's cost less and works for 4 days at any Disney park. Try one of the Travel sites, that can give you a good idea. Also if your not in a hurry go in January or February no lines to wait in.

It's not going to be cheap, but is doable. Try this website for some good money saving tips at Disney!

I wanted to add that on your park tickets, you really DO want the park hopper option, with my apologies to the person who felt they're not worth the extra $$. A day spent at Epcot or Animal Kingdom is way too much walking, a day at the Magic Kingdom is too much standing in line, and a day at MGM is too much sitting in shows. The park hoppers allow you to spend a morning in one park, then go to another, this is especially helpful if you stay on Disney property, because you can use the early entry option, then when that park fills up around noon, you can head to another park that's less crowded.

Wow. For that many days and with that large of a group, you'd be spending quite a bit of money. But then again, it all depends on what you'd like to do and where you'd like to stay. Disney's economy resort is the All Star, which can run at about $100 a night on the off season.
To give you an idea... I priced out a vacation for some friends of mine.. 2 adults, one child, staying at a Disney Resort for 5 days and playing at the parks for 4 days. Their total cost for park tickets and hotel stay for those 5 days came to about $1500.

Well, to enter one of the parks for just one day is $62, and park hopper pass for one day is about $100. Food in the area is expensive -- even the McDonalds near there is more than usual. Hotels are at least $100 a night. A two week stay would be one expensive trip.

ZERO! Walt Disney World isn't in the business of saving people money! It's VERY expensive!

That would be quite a bit. try going to the Walt Disney World website. you can plan a vacation for that number of people and it will determine the cost for you.

Well you could save a lot of money by bringing one of those cooler on wheels and making sure you had plenty of drinks and you could take sandwiches and have lunch that way. Then if you have a room with a stove you could cook dinner for everyone and save that way. something easy like spaghetti, that will feed a lot of people. Thats kind of what we did the first time we went.

what people don't understand is that most money will be spent while there. The parks and hotels are one fee, but the amenities during your stay there will equal or outmatch those fees. With my wife and I, we stayed a week and blew $2000 after the hotel and parks. At that rate, around $12,000. Though two weeks, you'll be kind of sick of it.

lol Seriously... my boyfriend and I are going for 11 days in August and it cost us $9,274.48- just the two of us staying at the Polynesian Resort. So yes, ridiculously expensive, but so worth it. And that's just for our stay, tickets, and dining. We still have to bring AT LEAST another $1,000 for spending while there. Flights cost another $1,000 for the two of us.
