Dogs.

Cats are EVIL and those that keep them should not be trusted.

I like both but to answer your question, A cat never barks and doesen't have to go out for excercise or for potty time, Cats are very loving and they know when you need them most. A dog is very different. I still want a little dog because dogs are more fun then cats.

i love both but i'm more of a cat lover. i never had any dogs or puppies growing up, it was always cats. someday i'll get my own dog. i'll probably get a puppy and kitten at the same time so they can learn 2 b friends with each other. but that's later. right now i love my cat, Kelly.

It all depends on your personality.

Dogs are a lot more loyal and there are so many things that you can do with them, such as: tricks, go playing in the park, or just being friends. YET, dogs are TREMENDOUS amount of work and very high maintenance. In the movies, the dog might be all loyal, protective, and obedient, but it is true that in the movie, they make it dozen times more dramatic. It is right that they are protective, (and in some cases, they might save the owner like the ones in the mivies) but they are more like "will work for FOOD" type. Also many dog breeds are harder to train and house breaking is REQUIRED when you are having a dog. Otherwise if he is not well house broken, he will be one of those sad pathetic dogs that end up in a pound.

Cats are very low maintenance compared to dogs, especially since they are house broken automatically. They can be very sweet and loving, depending on the breed and personality. The cats tend to be less "annoying" than dogs, I should say, but that depends on your personality. Yet, the things that you can do with cats are limited. You won't be able to teach tricks, since they are not food crazy (at all), you won't be able to take it to park and run with him, and he will do things only if he feels like doing it.

But it all depends on your personality. For me, I don't mind getting bothered and I am very hyperactive person, so I like to have company for jogging, hiking, swimming, boating or whatever I do. Many of my friends like cats because they leave you alone, and they have their loving way of giving you love, without drooling on your face. When you are working or reading or whatever, cats will come and lay down next to you or on your lap and be charming and give you lots of love.

For me, I love the HORSES the most. They are like dogs because you need to excercise them almost every day and very loyal and obedient. Horses get very attatched to their owners, and it's very sad how many people don't realize that. Just think: if you buy a horse when it is about 4 month old foal, and live with it, sleep with it, and treat it just like a dog, I bet horses will probably be more loyal as dogs. They want to please you more, too. My horses will do things just to hear one more "good boy". Dogs, they won't really do hard things if you don't have any treats. Horses can be trained very easily without anything, but praise. and one thing you can't forget about horses: you can RIDE them!! haha

anyway, I think I talked too much about horses, wich is unnecessary.

So whether you like dogs or cats, it all comes down to your personality. I personally like dogs. (not counting horses!)
