YES IT CAN!
You'll need to find yourself a copy of Ontrack Easy Recovery CD, (Limewire should have it). With that you might be able to access the contents of the drive. Install the software on the working computer and, once launched, you'll have many simple options to choose from, any of which should recover your files....it's pretty self explanatory assuming your hard drive still has a heart beat of course. =) Good luck
