I have to admit you are right on the defination of the word.
please understand that most people don't have the slightest idea of what's really going on over there.
Sometimes I have trouble with it because I have to weigh out the propaganda of a controled media and figure out what's real.
The main problem is the way the news is not used in America and other parts of the world.

If Hezbolla was created for 1982, why did they continue to operate and continue to get funded after Israel left?

There was a certain UN resolution in 2004 you forgot about.

And you make a good point, I have to admit, that the line between terrorism and defense of the homeland becomes a grey area.

Here's my question to you. Since Israel left Lebanon, why didn't the people disarm Hezbolla, and then when in 2004 when the UN passed that resolution?

Cont. Edit: Also, here's the thing, terrorism is on the attack, always. Not for defense. But people join them in the misguided belief that the terrorists are for defending their country.

terrorism is hurting many innocent people. Like 9-11,or Lebonon. America was in Iraq to help them establism a democracy along with other reasons that the goverment does not disclose. America fought the british to win their independence from Britian. America could be considered terrorists, however, we are not getting what we need by instilling terror on other people to establish it. There is a fine line between terrorism and what america is doing. We would have never gone over there if they had never attacked america.

Really nobody is saying every person from Middle East origin is a terrorist. There are alot of people that have there own opinions. BUt generally all people do not want to see people and familys getting hurt. Terrorism to me is someone standing over the week. Someone praying on others and harming them. Please you know you are asking for a fight with your words. Why not be rational and realize you cannot group everyone together.

Here ya go Tonto: This is my definition.

If you disarmed all the militant Islamic's in the region, there would be peace.
If you disarmed all of Israel there would be a second holocaust.
Hence the militant Islamic's are the terrorists.
If this can't 'help' you understand, nothing will.

Terrorists go out of their way to specifically target civilians. Terrorists fight like little girls, they strike and then they hide behind women and children. Terrorists have no valvue of live whatsoever, not even their own, they send their own children with bombs strapped on their backs, to blow people up.

Terrorism is the intentional random killing of non-combatants, for the purpose of causing fear. For the purpose of terrorism, the killing and maiming of children and women is especially desired. Also it is important specific attacks be unpredictable, so that (ideally) everybody in the target group feels that he may be killed or maimed at any time. The purpose of this terrorism, if any, is to make the target group too afraid to fight back.

Terrorists do not kill without reason. Their reason is to terrorize.

Not all wars are terrorism. Otherwise EVERYONE is a terrorist

terrorists do things that cause the general populace to be afraid all the time. most of what you describe is torture and killing. scare tactics don't necessarily kill people, just make them afraid of death.
