The British government created heavy laws on gun use by civillians because they learnt after the Dunblane Massacre that prohibiting guns was the way to prevent another school massacre. It's a shame the US government couldn't learn too.
If you want to carry a gun then go back to the US. When you're in another country, you have to obey the laws of the country. And if you're tempted to carry a gun in the UK, be prepared to face the consequences which could either lead to a hefty jail sentence or you being gunned down by armed police.

Carrying an unlicensed gun in the UK is a very serious criminal offence, and applying for a license takes about a six monhs and you will have to undergo numerous security checks before you are issued with a license. And even then you cant just carry the gun around with you.
Thats the way we like it, and as a result we dont get many people shot here.
If you dont agree, you can clear off back to your own bullet-ridden country.

When you travel to another country, you are a guest there, and just as you would at a guest's home in the U.S., you are expected to follow their rules .
In the early days of the US, people used guns mostly to hunt food. and protect themselves, as well as use them if they were called to war, so that the right to keep and bear arms was written into our constitution. England was a monarchy and commoners didn't have arms, which is why they don't have them today....it's only been in the last few years that their police started carrying guns.
Think of it this way, if someone came to the US from a country who's culture was markedly different from ours, we would expect them to respect our laws.
Here's a link to a case that's been very controversal here in the US which deals with an issue just like this

No. the clarification that they don't typically carry guns is that the institution believed that because the police were from the decrease ranges of society, they were not in good structure to carry guns. (particularly as ex-slaves interior the united states ought to not own guns). the concern interior the united kingdom has not replaced.

Poorly thought out knee jerk legislation brought in largely through media pressure everytime some prick goes nuts with a gun is the reason gun laws here are so strict
As the US & the UK are seperate countries, they each have their own laws you have to abide by when you are there....... like you'd expect us not to respect & follow the rules of your country that differ from ours when visiting?

British citizens are still subjects of the crown and not afforded the same rights. Just be grateful you don't have to live there. Just like in Australia, gun control in the UK has not lowered crime, just the opposite in fact. It's sad to think there are those who believe disarming victims is a good way to stop criminals.

If you are in the UK, you have to abide by the laws in the UK. When I visit the USA, I have to abide by their laws.
By the way, I do not carry a gun when I visit the USA either. Thankfully, it is not compulsory to carry a gun even over there.

I can't believe how many stupid *** questions like this there are! Are you trying to be clever or make yourself look hard because it's not working.
I really do hope you try and bring a gun through security, and hey, wave it around a bit in protest, see how clever you look then when the AP pump your sad little *** full of lead.
