Well Ashley I guess get you voice better and try working on lyrics and don't listen to any bad feedback.
When your music comes from your heart you will out shine Jessica everytime.

Try to find a singing coach or instructor. If not available, check the bookstore or library about singing instruction books that come with a cd or tape to practice with. Then practice on your own, but don't overdo it. I took singing lessons for awhile, they say that for most instruments, you could learn on your own if you wanted to, but for voice it's important to have a teacher, if possible. Although some popular singers have done it with no voice instruction I imagine. Singers like Geoff Tate and Layne Staley (God bless his soul) were trained by vocal teachers, Geoff extensively.

why don't you sing together, we got enough "american idols" already. Proper harmonizing is awesome.
