What is up with religious extremists?

Why do they even enter a category like this?

If they only wanted to find out about the HOMO CULTURE great!
But they waltz in here and make irritating remarks that is just uncalled for!

WHY?

I can take negative remarks about who i am, but debating a topic is great. Making pointless negative remarks is rather pointless. Don't ypu agree?

Plus dealing with Mid-Western redneks is not so great you have to repeat yourself to often.

Being an extremist is easy and comfortable. You don't have to think or analyze each individual situation. Just take the same extreme position on everything and make yourself feel better by criticizing and belittling others.

I guess I've expressed this opinion in answer to similar questions in the past, but I'll do it again.

I think that Gay, lesbian and other queer folks have made great strides towards equal treatment in recent years. These people who sit on the far right are nervous that we are gaining ground, so they need to strike out in every forum they can.
The come into our territory (and it's very safe here, they're not going to get punched in the nose like they might at a gay bar) to make a LOT of noise, to make us think we are not really gaining so much ground, in order to discourage us from fighting to the end.
Don't fall for it. While we will lose some battles, we are WINNING this war.

There are a few things going on here, but for the most part, it all boils down to people "Opposing things that clash with their world view." If a christian fundamentalist believes that homosexuality is not a choice, he might fear that he himself is homosexual, but believing this to be a sin, he fears he himself is sinful. People will always fight "evil" when it is in their best interests to do so. If they can make themselves out to feel like saints, do what they believe will "improve the world" and otherwise reinforce their own world view, it makes them feel just a little bit safer in their own world. Whether the world that they construct for themselves is any more or less accurate than the world the homosexual constructs for themself is something impossible to prove.

These are Ignorant Bigots who though high in IQ are working to become as stupid as possible in a misguided attempt to please God. Most are Alcoholics or Drug addicts or Felons Or all the above who have no self discipline and they need a feuror (preacher) to tell them every thing is black and white, good and bad.

To inflict misery is any way they can upon those they deem inferior. This may be due to the jealousy they experience because they do not feel empowered to live their lives in any way other than that dictated by the leaders of their church.

i don't know what's up with them. their comments are just bigoted and uneducated. anti-gay remarks are ridiculous. just ignore them, or you can report their negative comments to Yahoo! and get them taken off the program. or, you could even try reasoning with them, and educating them, but trying to knock reason into a religious extremist is like trying to knock reason into a brick wall. pointless and frustrating. good luck!

They get points for converting "sinners" and get to cash in the points when they get to Heaven.

What they don't know is that it is a sin to force people to change their minds. So, the more "sinners" they convert that don't want to, they are getting two points for them selves to go to Hell.
