No, bikers are not really bad a**es. I have been a biker for many years and so is my husband.
I know a number of bikers many of them are professional people, just like bikes.
They need to wear the leather to protect themselves. No one sets out to come off the bike, but if you do, the leather does help to protect you.

Most are really nice people, they just look evil. It is part of the genre.
The leather is protective and the chrome looks nice, an ego thing.
We have a young lady who works here whose Father is a Minister for "Bikers for Jesus". They all ride Harley's and look dangerous! But they are the sweetest most loving people. So I guess it is true, you cannot judge a book by it's cover.

Actually, the leather is for their protection if they should get knocked off the bike. Chrome looks good glinting in the sun. The both of them together that makes them look like bad asses is just an added bonus

I consider my self bad a$$. Bikers definitly are. Try telling someone that doesn't think bikers are road gangsters. To say that to a biker.

i know lots of biker dudes and ladies. i wouldn't say they think they're bad asses (that idea comes from teli i think). most of them are working class people. and harley's are pretty awesome grown up toys (in a manner of speaking). most the people i know, they live and let live. yeah you get a few bad apples in the group, but that's everywhere you go.

bikers are people.just like any group of people anywhere. there will be some very brave, some skittish, some shy, some bold, some wild ,some quiet, some smart, some not so smart, etc.....

A large number of the current Harley riders are such candy boys that they trailer their bikes to places like Daytona and Sturgis. I mean, how tough can they be?

Most of them are alright people. there are some I wouldn't want to tangle with, but for the most part there the one you'll see making a Christmas run for kids. They look out for their own.

They are good and bad, just like every other group in the world.
Mostly, they don't take any crap, that is why people think they are bad.
