You learned the colours incorrectly then.

In the rainbow it will ONLY reflect the spectrum of VISIBLE light.

Which is defined ONLY as the following colours:

RED
ORANGE
YELLOW
GREEN
BLUE
VIOLET

I never put indigo in my previous (correct) answer either.

The colours split up from the normal light we see (white) due to the refraction of light and the very slightly different wavelengths they have, otherwise, we'd never have rainbows.
