Hate is too strong. I don't hate anybody. I dislike, but don't hate.
He claimed to be a uniter, but he is not. He has strong opinions, and won't listen to moderate advice to change his opinions, which leads people to be frustrated, and thus dislike him.
He also doesn't make much sense when he speaks..."food on families" for one example.
He also has taken Pres. Clinton's surplus and destroyed that with the biggest deficit in history, in a very short time, plus getting bigger every day.
He also took the good public image that America had (developed by all previous presidents) and destroyed that as well by:
1) pulling out of the Kyoto Agreement
2) acting unilaterally with Iraq
3) throwing up on the Japanese premier
enough? there is much more, but enough for now.

The people didn't like either candidate very well. The Bush family is well known since his father was president and are considered honest folk to many. It would seem people hate Bush but that is generally because of the media which is highly favorable of liberal ideals.

Because more of us like him then don't. It is just the loud mouths (many of which don't have real jobs) that can spend all their time complaining.
Of course you will get some twit up here telling you he stole the election. But at the same time they will tell you he is a complete idiot. So ask yourself did a complete idiot steal TWO elections? Or do you think he may just have won them.

ugh. Yes some people don't like him but they're in the minority. You watch any media outlet who has a liberal bias and they can make you believe whatever they want. The election was 6 years ago, they recounted and every agency that did said Gore did not have enough votes to win. Move on! Sheesh

Lesser of Two evils. Though I didn't vote in the last presidentional election I did in 2000. Honestly who would want Tipper Gore in power? I voted for Bush.

because people hated kerry and gore more. look at what they are doing now would u really trust gore his number 1 priority is the environment which isnt true for most of the country. they would prefer military or education or welfare something that effects us more immediately. and no1 could believe kerry cuz he changed his mind more often then a person blinks. so most ppl thought bush would be at least a little more stable and consistent president then either of them.

The answer from Jim2386 is misleading - in 2000, Al Gore won the popular vote.

'Cause more people came to hate him *after* the election. So his approval rating came crashing down in 2005 and 2006 after prolonged fighting in Iraq, the response to Hurricane Katrina, and ultimately nothing good to show during those years to try to help his numbers.

Do you really believe that the election was honest? I somehow don't think so myself. Computerized voting machines can be programmed to count votes any way whoever programs them wants them to.
