I can't remember what Function key to press to bring up the Symbol Box , i.e., degrees symbol, when using WORD. Also, is there a similar box when composing an email using YAHOO?

Depends how good you are:)

Windows comes with a program called the Character Map. you can pull it up by selecting RUN from the start menu, and typing "Charmap" and hitting enter.

if you're really good (or sad, as is in my case), you actually have the ASCII codes memorised and can hold down ALT and type the code on the keypad (™=Alt+0153, for example).

Hope this helps:)

Alt + I, Alt + S will work, though I don't know the function key -

as to yahoo - there are key combinations - when you type in a symbol in word you will see the code at the bottom - (e.g. em dash is Alt +0151) use that in yahoo, if the font used has the character mapped, it will work.

You can use the alt key + different numbers to make symbols. This site has a guide of all of them. You can use this in word, or on the internet. You can also use it in yahoo mail.
