I'm in this situation all day every day as my fella works away this is the reason I have a p.c, I chat, e-mail & play at designing those colourful letters some people use. I watch tv & I chat on the phone.
You can spend the time watching, tv, reading, on the p.c, housework like ironing or have a lovely hot bath with no interruptions.
Why not get in touch with Learn Direct in the U.K & do an online course, theres loads of subjects to chose from & it will help keep your brain from going loopy.
I'm doing two courses at the moment (both are online & free of charge) one is a foundation course in child psychology hopefully I can take the next level in college full time when my son starts school and the other is a computing course which will help me either at college or in any work I do once I am able to work.
Use the time you have now to improve on the skills you have

Okayyy.... What are you into? Give us something to work with here.....Read a book, watch TV...gather pictures of your son,and have some memories, call an old friend, make a scrap book, play solitare, repot those houseplants........draw a nice tub of hot water, light some candles pour a glass of wine and enjoy the "me" time. Write some letters, pay some bills, organize those cupboards!! Take up a hobby, paint, pottery, knit, sew, do your nails.....order a pizza and rent a movie...learn to do the hula, yoga or play an instrument.....
I guess the question would be better asked...What CAN'T you do by yourself when your son's asleep...

You've found the right place!
Yahoo Answers are fun and addictive and you get to see what opinions other people (who have nothing better to do but to sit infront of a computer to a silly hour in the morning, when they really should be getting a good night's sleep) have and see how much they differ from your own!!

It may be old fashioned, but needlework is great. There's lots of kinds to choose from. I like crochet, needlepoint and cross stitch. The cross stitch kits on the front of magazines are a good way to start, as you get everything you need for a small outlay, good instructions and an easy project to complete. Best of all you can watch t.v. too!
